Assigning my rights to MROC Canada?

The first thing you need to do is fill out our Appointment and Authorization form and the Repertoire Registration form (these can also be obtained by mail, fax or via this website). Once you fill out these forms and return them to our office you are ready to receive royalties. In the meantime - Record more music! If you do record anything new, you can let us know by sending us a new repertoire form. Please note that you do not have to be a member of AFM Canada to receive neighbouring rights royalties. Before you can register your works you must sign up as a member first.

YES, I'M A MEMBER and I Want to Register a Recording

To assist you in registering a piece of work, you need to have the following information available at the time you sit down to register the work.  However once you close the page without having selected the submit button, your data will be lost.  You must complete the form while the link is open. 
When completing the form you need to provide the following information:

  • Song Title/Track
  • Artist and or Band
  • Maker – Producer who paid for recording – i.e. Record Label
  • Date of release
  • Recording Studio (City and Country)
  • Name of each featured artist on recording
  • Name of each background artist on recording

Also, if you are not a featured artist, it is essential for you to include the names of the other musicians who performed on the session (as many as you can remember). If you already have all of this information on a spread sheet that you created, the liner notes that include your name, or on recording contracts - please feel free to submit this with the repertoire form. The more information we receive the better! If you do decide to submit your own records instead of using our forms, we ask that you make sure that your data contains all the information required in the Repertoire Registration form.
