Loss of our good friend David Jandrisch
It is with great sadness that MROC shares the passing of our close friend and colleague David Jandrisch. Dave was a formidable advocate for musicians’ rights, serving over the course of many years as President of the Winnipeg Musicians’ Association, Chair of the Canadian Conference of Musicians, VP from Canada of the American Federation of Musicians, a Trustee of the Musicians’ Pension Fund of Canada, and, more recently, as Chair and then Chair Emeritus of MROC’s Board.
Born in Winnipeg in 1940, Dave began his career as a professional musician at the age of 15 and subsequently performed as an instrumentalist on more than 3000 radio and television shows. Throughout his career, he displayed an unwavering dedication to the music industry and improving the lives of musicians, executing everything he did with intelligence, kindness and a quick wit. He will be deeply missed by his family, all his MROC colleagues on the Board and staff, as well as his copious friends and contacts in the Canadian music industry and beyond. Rest in peace, our dear friend.
